On March 15, 2011, the Liquid (Semi solid) Forging Precision Forming Research Institute, jointly established by Guangzhou Iron and Steel Group and Suzhou Sanji Company, was officially listed and established as the Suzhou Sanji R&D Base. The establishment of this research institute is expected to accelerate the development and progress of China's liquid forging technology, break the technological blockade of foreign countries, and make China's liquid forging technology a world-class technology.
Through cooperation, on the one hand, it helps Guangzhou Iron and Steel Industry to transform and develop, extend the industrial chain of aluminum alloy products, and achieve high added value. The liquid (semi-solid) forging precision forming technology selected by Guanggang Group is a comprehensive production technology that solves the short process, high efficiency, clean die casting, and extrusion forming of aluminum alloy castings. It is a major key technology for achieving the goal of lightweighting of key components in important basic industries such as automobiles, motorcycles, communications, military, aviation, and aerospace.
On the other hand, Suzhou Sanji has found a new application carrier for liquid forging forming technology. Through joint breakthroughs in extrusion casting technology for high-end castings such as large automotive wheels, it can help Suzhou Sanji further improve its forming equipment and forming process technology level. The research institute currently has 15 full-time researchers and has hired two experts with profound expertise in the field as consultants.
